Have you ever heard people say ‘the rich don’t render help to the poor’?
Well, this is a common belief among some people who are always on the look- out for help. They visit different religious circles with the aim of meeting influential people who they feel can help them. In fact their sole aim of associating with this group is to be HELPED. They need help to pay their wards' school fees, house rent e.t.c. Some practically want their rich family members to take care of their children, they belief it is these rich ones' responsibilities to help them give their children education.
When these needs are not met, they call the ones who declined to help all sort of names, saying they were blessed by God to be a blessing but they have refused to bless their own brothers/sisters. They move on to another circle and tell anyone who cares to listen how this other people refused to help people in need.
Truly, we are blessed to be a blessing, but I sincerely feel we should not be responsible for someone else’ irresponsibility.
I am not against seeking for help, after all no man is an island, even our Creator needs our help to reach out to other creatures. All I am advocating is that we should not be the one to receive help always, rather we should also look out for ways to be of help to others.
Look out for people who are in need around you. No matter how lowly you think you are, there are people in dire need of your help. Help a sick neighbor, help a colleague on the job, volunteer your time if you have no money to give, anyhow you can do it , just do it, be the one to help. It will surprise you how people will be ready to help you when you help others too.
Above all the best and most helpful hand you can find around is the one at the end of your arm, so help yourself by being helpful to someone today.
