COURTESY & APPRECIATION … GREAT LESSONS IN RELATIONSHIPS
No man is an Island goes a popular saying
We all relate with differs people in our day-to-day activities
Wherever you may go, you meet people, in the bank, office, petrol station
Your social/religious circle, market e.t.c.
Please, pause and think of a place you can go and you need nobody to relate with
May be the grave, which I doubt you want to go now
So while here on earth we need learn how to relate very well with people
Since we all are of different temperament, background, religion, tribe, gender e.t.c
It is of great importance that we use an acceptable language we all can understand
Two of these languages are COURTESY & APPRECIATION,
No matter how difficult a person may look or act, be courteous, show appreciation
I know you must have heard this before, but I implore you to put it into action today
“Thank you for sparing me your precious time”, Kindly help…”
“Please can I …”, “ Sorry to bother you”, “ I wonder what I would have done if not for your timely intervention ”, “ You have made my day” , “ I’m highly grateful to you”….
“Can I know the name of my wonderful customer?” “ Thank you for your patronage”
These and many more would open people’s heart to you, and once you have the heart…..
Every human being craves attention, recognition and importance
No one loves to be looked down upon, scolded, mocked, or made feel inferior
So in your relationship, never looked down upon anyone, esteem the gate man,
Appreciate the cleaner, compliment the driver, and thank the cashier, waiter,
Be couteous to your customers, you are out of business without them
Especially to your immediate family, show appreciation
Like the Yorubas would say “ You dress from home before showing yourself to the world”
